ICM’s dilute acid pretreatment technology has been developed and optimized over the past decade. ICM’s focus is on dilute acid/steam explosion technology at solids concentrations ranging from 10-20% dry matter. Capabilities range in scale from a batch 300 ml reactor to a 5-20 ton/day continuous reactor. ICM’s analytical laboratory is also fully equipped to provide detailed cellulosic compositional data throughout the process.
A range of milling and feedstock preparation devices are available as ancillary support to the pretreatment system. Pretreated material can be converted to sugars in hydrolysis systems ranging from lab scale to 35,000 gallon vessels with a range of instrumentation and control. Mixing tanks are fully equipped to provide information needed to scale up any challenging process stream.
